Abstract: This research explores strategies for promoting lifelong learning in technical fields in Nigeria, emphasizing continuous skill development and adaptability in response to technological advancements and industry changes. Lifelong learning is essential for maintaining workforce competitiveness and career advancement opportunities in technical sectors. The study aims to (1) identify key competencies and skills demanded by evolving technical industries, (2) analyze current approaches and initiatives promoting lifelong learning among technical professionals, and (3) propose strategies for integrating lifelong learning principles into technical education and professional development programs. A survey research design is employed to gather insights from technical professionals, educators, and industry leaders. A sample size of 300 participants will be chosen through purposive sampling to represent technical professionals and training providers in Bauchi State. Case studies will examine successful lifelong learning initiatives and their impact on career trajectories. Findings indicated a growing demand for upskilling in digital literacy, project management, and emerging technologies among technical professionals. Recommendations include establishing competency-based training programs, fostering a culture of continuous learning within organizations, and leveraging digital platforms for accessible and flexible lifelong learning opportunities to enhance workforce resilience and innovation in technical fields.
